Garlic Designs is the creative moniker of Garret Monahan, an international mural artist and designer operating between London and Dublin.
Specialising in large-scale public art, bespoke interior commissions, and fine art, Garret bridges the gap between urban street art and cultural storytelling. His portfolio spans from high-end interior murals on Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, to community-driven landmarks in Wandsworth, London.
Beyond the wall, Garret’s practice extends into the studio, where he produces original canvas paintings and limited-edition digital artwork. These smaller-scale works carry the same bold, graphic energy as his street-level projects, allowing his signature style to transition from the urban landscape into private collections and digital spaces.
As a lead contributor to the Dublin Canvas initiative, Garret has produced some of the city's most recognisable utility box landmarks, most notably his celebrated portraits of Ronnie Drew, Father jack and Roger Casement. Whether through a 50-foot exterior wall, a gallery canvas, or his independent streetwear collections, Garret Monahan’s work is defined by a deep connection to the identity of the cities he paints.
